Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca shared his thoughts after the team’s victory against Cagliari in an interview with Sky Sport. Lucca, who scored the opening goal against Cagliari, paving the way for Udinese’s success, discussed his partnership with teammate Keinan Davis and the team’s prospects.
When asked about his partnership with Davis, Lucca said, “We are complementary players. We both attack the space behind the defense and play well with the team. Today, we did it excellently. On Wednesday, we have an important match to win. Playing with Davis, we occupy more of the penalty area. The one-on-one with the defender makes it easier for me. With Thauvin, I was a bit alone, but he always managed to serve me in space and in the penalty area.”
Regarding Udinese’s potential this season, Lucca offered a balanced perspective: “Last year we weren’t poor, and this year we’re not phenomenal. We need to find a middle ground. We’ve done well to react after last year. We’re happy with our start, and we need to continue like this.”
When questioned about his personal goals, Lucca remained focused yet ambitious: “I’m concentrated on doing well, and I have confidence in myself. Last year didn’t go as we hoped, but I think this year is important. I need to stay focused and give my best; it could be the year of my breakthrough. A dream? I prefer not to say.”
