The agent of Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Torreira has confirmed that he will be meeting with Lazio to discuss a potential return to Serie A. The 27-year-old made the move to the Turkish Super Lig last summer and went on to become a key part of the team that won the title under coach Okan Buruk.
Torreira is now being linked with a return to Italy where he famously made his name, playing for Sampdoria. Speaking with LazioSiamoNoi.it, agent Pablo Bentancur confirmed that he will be meeting with Biancocelesti to discuss a potential move to capital:
“Torreira is a footballer who had a great season at Pescara and was confirmed at Sampdoria. In his first year at Arsenal he was the best midfielder ever. But now he has reached footballing and personal maturity and has played, in the last season, his most scintillating championship.”
“I can safely say that Galatasaray did not put him up for sale. Also because he easily reached all the bonuses with an incredible performance this year.”
“Lazio? I have to be honest. Next week I have an official appointment with the club, to hear their proposal. They play the Champions League, and Lucas has always loved Italy. However, I have to be very clear. He is not for sale, but business is business, and players are players. We have this appointment and we will go there.
