Lazio President Claudio Lotito is standing firm on Sergej Milinkovic-Savics’ price tag and won’t be drawn into Luis Alberto’s ‘games’. Both players are being linked with moves away from the capital as Juventus look keen on the Serbian midfielder while Luis Alberto has struggled for playing time under coach Maurizio Sarri. Speaking to Il Messaggero, Lotitio once again reinforced his stance on both players:
“If he (Luis Alberto) wants to leave, bring a team with money, because I really won’t think about giving him away on loan in January. And I have not received any request from Atletico. At the moment, the situation has not changed from the summer when Sevilla had perhaps deluded him.
I am not playing any games, Luis Alberto is strong, an added value for Lazio and a compromise can still be found. He has to accept the coach’s choices and Sarri can be more understanding and understand him, because every player has a different character. It’s not like they can all have Pedro’s mentality.”
Being in fourth? I am very happy with fourth place, the football and the spirit we showed in the first part of the championship. Sarri has done a very good job, in January we have to start again in the same way to get to the Champions League.
Milinkovic-Savic? Everyone says he is leaving, he’s going here or there, but he is not for sale, it is known how much he is worth to me and to Lazio, and I am firm on the ongoing talks about renewal. Romero’s renewal is also ready, it will be like a birthday present for him. Slowly he is growing, he has a great path ahead of him.”
