Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli has been forced to withdraw from the Italy squad after picking up an injury. The Azzurri face North Macedonia ad Ukraine in their final two Euro 2024 qualifiers, but need to win both matches to secure a place in next summer’s competition.
Locatelli was one of coach Luciano Spalletti’s midfield call-ups, but the Bianconeri midfielder has been forced to immediately withdraw from the team, with Spalletti saying:
“We sent Locatelli home because he’s injured. The doctor will tell you the exact problem.”
Tests on the midfielder reportedly revealed a slight fracture of a rib, with the player set to return to Turin to undergo therapy for a few days with a recovery plan put in place based on the symptoms.
