The agent of Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson shed light on the interest from Serie A giants Juventus, Inter, and Milan, emphasizing his client’s clarity in the matter.
Ferguson, a 24-year-old Scottish talent, has notably emerged as one of Serie A’s most promising midfielders over the past 18 months, playing a pivotal role in Bologna’s remarkable campaign under the guidance of Thiago Motta.
In an interview with TV Play via TuttoBologna, agent Bill McMurdo delved into the interest surrounding his client and outlined their approach moving forward.
“It’s important to note that Lewis had the opportunity to join any Serie A club on a free transfer, but he made the conscious decision to commit to Bologna after meaningful discussions with Sartori and Di Vaio. This decision has proven to be rewarding given the exceptional season the club is enjoying,” stated McMurdo.
“While there are widespread rumors linking Lewis to esteemed clubs like Napoli, Inter, Milan, and Juventus, he has been transparent with Bologna. Should any of these clubs express interest, it will be up to Bologna’s management to evaluate the offer,” McMurdo continued.
Reflecting on the influence of Thiago Motta on Ferguson’s growth and development, McMurdo highlighted the coach’s significance.
“Thiago Motta is an exceptional coach, and should he transition to Juventus, given his admiration for Lewis, it’s conceivable that he would seek to bring him along. In such a scenario, it would pose a challenging decision for my client to turn down such a prestigious opportunity,” McMurdo concluded.
