Leicester City place huge bid for Torino’s Perr Schuurs

Start

Leicester City have reportedly tabled a major offer for Torino defender Perr Schuurs.

According to SportItalia, Torino have received a bid of €28m plus Dennis Praet in exchange for Schuurs.

The report has yet to be quantified by any major English journalists or by any other Italian media.

Schuurs, 23, has featured 14 times for Torino in Serie A this season at centre-back, whilst Praet, 28, has made 10 Premier League appearances for Leicester. The Belgian was on loan at Torino last season and had been linked with a return earlier this month.

Leicester currently sit one point above the relegation zone and hold the joint-second worst record for goals conceded in the League this season.

Along with a desperation to improve their defensive record, Leicester’s significant offer is due to Schuurs’ expected increase in market value by the summer, alledges SportItalia. Torino are 8th in Serie A and have conceded less goals than Milan or Inter who are battling to remain in the top four.

Schuurs only joined Torino in the summer, signing from Ajax in a deal worth €9m, and has a contract until 2026.
