Leicester City and Roma linked with Matias Soulè

Start

Argentine winger Matias Soulè appears to be moving further away from Turin and Juventus, with both Roma and Leicester City linked with a move. This comes as a significant disappointment to Juventus manager Thiago Motta, who highly values the player and envisioned him as an effective offensive winger in his tactical system.

The young Argentine has been considered a potential sacrifice for Juventus if a suitable offer were to arrive, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, such an offer may now be on the horizon.

Leicester City have reportedly initiated discussions with an opening bid of €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses for Soulè. However, Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ sporting director, has expressed reservations about this initial offer during phone conversations.

Despite these initial hesitations, there seems to be room for negotiation. The report suggests that if Leicester were to increase their bid to €30 million plus €5 million in bonuses, the deal could be swiftly concluded. This potential transfer fee aligns closely with Juventus’ reported asking price of €35-40 million for the 21-year-old winger.

The interest from Leicester City is not surprising given Soulè’s impressive performance during his loan spell at Frosinone last season, where he scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 36 Serie A appearances.

Interestingly, Caleb Okoli, a recent Leicester City signing and former teammate of Soulè at Frosinone, is reportedly attempting to persuade the Argentine to join him at the King Power Stadium.

Along with City, Serie A side Roma have also expressed interest, according to Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, but there’s been no official bid as yet.
