Lazio president Lotito addresses club Issues and transfer strategy

Start

Lazio president Claudio Lotito recently spoke to the media about various issues surrounding the club, including ticket prices, stadium plans, and the team’s transfer strategy.

Regarding the controversial ticket prices, Lotito defended the club’s decision, stating: “The Curva at 40 euros? Season tickets could be purchased at a low cost, it was done specifically to encourage people to come to the stadium. We gave the opportunity to subscribe to season tickets at very low prices, in some cases 10-12 euros, and we reopened the campaign three times. People can’t complain because in other important venues the cost is high.”

On the potential move to the Flaminio Stadium, Lotito said: “We are preparing all the appropriate documentation to demonstrate the importance of this choice for Rome in favor of Lazio. We want to safeguard the architectural quality of the stadium while trying to adapt it to current needs.”

When asked about the club’s objectives, the president was cautious: “Objectives are not set, they are achieved. Everyone needs to pull in the same direction, everyone needs to work, and it seems to me that we are creating the conditions for this to happen.”

Addressing the goalkeeper situation, Lotito dismissed any controversy: “Provedel? There is no issue. We have two goalkeepers in the team, he and Mandas have demonstrated all their value.”

Lotito also spoke about the team’s overhaul: “Lazio certainly needed a renewal, a revisiting of personnel. It was fundamental to create a united group, humble, endowed with competitive ferocity and hunger. Only people who consider Lazio as a point of arrival can be part of it. Last year the team didn’t go to the Champions League, why? Because it lost against teams within its reach. There was a drop in concentration and team spirit. This must not happen again.”

Finally, on the club’s transfer strategy, he emphasized: “If something doesn’t work, you change it, that’s why the interpreters have been changed. We don’t chase after names.”
