Lazio Football Club experienced a frightening morning as their defender Luca Pellegrini was involved in a car accident on the outskirts of Rome. The incident occurred while Pellegrini was on his way to the team’s training centre for a scheduled practice session.
The 24-year-old Italian left-back reportedly lost control of his vehicle, resulting in it overturning on the road. The accident took place on Via Cassia, near the town of Formello, where Lazio’s training ground is located.
Fortunately, initial reports suggest that Pellegrini escaped the incident without serious injury. He is said to have suffered only minor injuries to his leg. However, as a precautionary measure, the player was taken to a nearby medical facility for further examination and diagnostic tests.
Lazio promptly released an official statement addressing the situation:
“S.S. Lazio announces that player Luca Pellegrini was involved in a road accident near Rome this morning. The player, who was on his way to today’s training session, currently shows no significant consequences. Any further communication will be based on the results of the diagnostic tests he is undergoing.”
As a result of the accident, Pellegrini is expected to miss Lazio’s upcoming away match against Udinese. The club’s medical staff will closely monitor his condition and determine when he can safely return to training and match play.
