Lazio manager Marco Baroni expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance despite a 1-0 loss to Juventus in their Serie A matchup. Speaking to Sky Sport after the game, Baroni highlighted the positive aspects of Lazio’s play, even as they faced adversity.
“We put in an excellent performance,” Baroni began. “Going down to 10 men certainly affected us, but I liked what I saw from the team. We’re disappointed with the result, but the performance showed great personality and cohesion.”
The coach praised left-back Nuno Tavares for his impact, noting: “Nuno Tavares gave us energy and allows us to push the team higher up the pitch. For playing this type of match, maintaining proper spacing is crucial.”
Baroni acknowledged the unfortunate nature of the own goal that decided the match, stating: “It’s a shame about the own goal incident. We were unlucky in that circumstance.”
The Lazio manager also had kind words for midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli, who came on as a substitute: “Castrovilli is a player with quality who can cover all midfield roles. We needed to find better ball control, and he provided that for us.”
