Reports from Argentina and Italy claim Lazio are set to complete the signing of New York City FC striker Taty Castellanos. The 24-year-old has been a consistent goal-scorer in MLS, racking up 40 goals in two seasons with the Bronx Blues since arriving from Universidad de Chile.
Argentine journalist Cesar Merlo reports that Castellanos is a new Lazio player, after the Biancocelesti agreed terms with NYCFC on a transfer fee of €15 million, plus bonuses. Fabrizio Romano confirms the news, saying the deal is all but complete.
The Argentine is expected in the Italian capital on Tuesday to undergo a medical and complete the transfer, signing a contract until 2028.
Castellanos has scored 59 goals in total over four seasons with the MLS side, winning the MLS Cup in 2022.
