La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Lautaro Martinez has rejected a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian side in favour of remaining with Inter. The Argentine international was the subject of interest from an as yet unnamed Saudi team who were prepared to offer the 25-year-old striker close to €60 million net per season, almost 10 times his current salary with the Nerazzurri.
Lautaro is expected to be named as Inter’s captain next season and still has three years left on his existing contract, often voicing his desire to remain with the club for the forseeable future.
La Gazzetta write that the talismanic forward has now rejected the chance to make the move to the Middle East, while Inter won’t entertain offers below €150m, despite having no intention of selling him.
The Argentine scored 28 goals and provided 11 assists in 57 appearances across all competitions last season, helping the Nerazzurri lift both the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.
