La Repubblica: ‘Dybala risks one month ban due to Juve investigation’

Start

Roma forward Paulo Dybala was interviewed by Italy’s Guardia Di Finanza as part of the financial investigation into Juventus’ player salaries and risks a month’s ban. It’s the second time La Joya has spoken with Italy’s financial police regarding an alleged agreement between Juventus players and the club to give up four months’ wages in 2020 during the Covid pandemic.

Wiretaps that were released as part of the Prisma investigation, along with player’s Whatsapp conversations, outline how some players still received at least three months’ salary, albeit with the salary paid under the table by the club at the end of the season.

La Repubblica report that Dybala was interviewed by the Guardia Di Finanza  this week as they believe the Argentine received €3m as compensation after Juventus refused to extend his contract last year – A similar amount was included in Juve’s balance sheet among ‘provision for risks.’ The belief is that Juventus owed the player €3.7m after the salary manoeuvre which is being investigated by the Turin Prosecutors office and the figure relates to this payment.

If he is found guilty, Dybala risks being banned for at least one month.
