Koni De Winter to join Genoa

Start

Juventus have agreed a deal with newly promoted Genoa for the transfer of young centre-back Koni De Winter. The 21-year-old spent the previous season on loan with Empoli, showing plenty of promise before returning to Turin this summer. The expectation was that the Belgian talent would make his way into the Juve first team at some point, but news from Italy suggests the Bianconeri have other plans.

Goal Italia’s Romeo Agresti reports that De Winter is set to join Genoa on loan for the new season, with the move becoming an obligation to sign the defender outright, of certain conditions are met.

Sky Sport Italia fill in the details, suggesting it will be a €10 million obligation, if Genoa don’t get relegated to Serie B in their first season back in Serie A and other performance-related goals.
