With the Serie A on halt due to the Euro 2024 qualifiers taking place, Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae provided his insight on recent transfer rumours in an interview with Napoli News Korea.
Since arriving to I Partenopei from Turkish outfits Fenerbahce during the summer transfer window, the South-Korean international has played a vital role within Spalletti’s squad’s success thus far, emerging as arguably the best defender within the Serie A.
As a result of his exquisite displays for Napoli, the 26 year-old has been heavily linked to a move to the Premier League next season, as it has been reported that Manchester United are extremely keen on acquiring Kim ahead of next year’s campaign.
While speaking to the media, as relayed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Kim emphasized that he is completely focused on finishing the season and is not drawing into the rumours and speculation regarding his future:
“I can’t be bothered by the transfer rumours, because they are not true. Now I focus on the team rather than that kind of nonsense. There are so many important games missing and right now I want to focus only on Napoli.
“The season is not over yet, we all have to be vigilant again, I have this kind of mentality for the championship. The idea is that you have to win every match and after earning as many points as possible we are heading in the direction of aiming for the Champions League. Player of the month award? I received it once, if you do well as a team you will also get the individual rewards. I aim to be in the Top 11 this season.”
