Juventus midfielder Vasilije Adzic has suffered another setback in his debut season with the Italian giants. The 18-year-old Montenegrin talent is facing a new injury layoff, adding to his already challenging start to life in Turin.
Adzic, who joined Juventus from Buducnost Podgorica for €2 million last summer, has had a stop-start beginning to his career with the Bianconeri. This latest injury marks the third time he has been sidelined this season, following previous muscle problems in August and September.
The club released an official statement regarding Adzic’s condition: “Vasilije Adzic, who experienced muscle discomfort in his right thigh on Friday, underwent diagnostic tests at J|medical. The examinations revealed a low to medium-grade injury to the adductor longus muscle. He will undergo further tests in 15 days to more precisely determine his recovery time.”
This new injury is particularly frustrating for both the player and the club, as Adzic had just begun to break into the first team. He has made two appearances for Juventus so far this season – one in Serie A against Lazio and another in the Champions League against Stuttgart. Both appearances came as a substitute at home, totaling 40 minutes of playing time.
