Juventus are looking to find a long-term heir for Alex Sandro and are being linked with a move for Boca Jrs youngster Valentin Barco. The Bianconeri are in the market for new full-backs, given that Sandro and Juan Cuadrado are into the final months of their existing deals, with no word on contract extensions as yet.
Tuttosport report that 18-year-old left-back Barco is impressing at Boca, having broken into the senior team last season, showing a lot of promise in a handful of performances. So much so, that Juventus, as well as Pop Guardiola’s Manchester City, have him ‘in their sights for the summer’.
The youngster has a contract until December 2024 and a $10 million release clause, a figure that was imposed by the players agent when Barco signed a contract extension, and an amount deemed affordable by the Bianconeri.
The young Argentine is also preparing documents to apply for an EU passport, which would make him all the more appealing to Juve. The player is on the list for the Under-20 World Cup to be played in Argentina and boasts a ‘great offensive drive and uncommon determination’, having made his debut in the Copa Libertadores, complete with an assist.
