Juventus are still looking at Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo, should he become available as a free-agent in the coming months. The Bianconeri followed the former Barcelona youth product during the summer but failed to make a move for him before the window closed.
With Alex Sandro’s contract contract set to expire in June 2023, Juve are expected to sign a new left-back before the start of next summer’s window.
JuventusNews24 and La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juventus are still tracking Grimaldo who was one of their transfer targets last summer.
According to the report, Juve will make a play to sign the 26-year-old who also has an expiring contract next June and could be available as a free agent.
The Spanish international put on a superb performance in Benfica’s Champions League opener against Maccabi Haifa midweek, providing the assist for Rafa Silva before scoring the second goal himself.
Juve will have a chance to scout him up close when they host the Portuguese side next Tuesday in Matchday Two of the Champions League group stage.
