Juventus to reject Aston Villa’s €40m bid for Andrea Cambiaso

Juventus are reportedly ready to turn down a €40 million offer from Aston Villa for left-back Andrea Cambiaso and instead offer him a new contract, according to Sportitalia.

Alfredo Pedullà reports that a substantial bid from the Premier League, believed to be from Aston Villa, is imminent. Villa, having secured Champions League qualification, are in search of reinforcements. Their director of sport, Monchi—formerly with Roma and Sevilla—is a known admirer of Cambiaso.

The 24-year-old talent, who arrived from Genoa in 2022 for €13.3 million, has shown tactical flexibility, having been deployed in a number of roles by former coach Max Allegri.

Despite the lucrative offer from Aston Villa, Sportitalia maintain that Juventus are inclined to turn down the proposal.  The suggestion is that instead, they are preparing to negotiate an enhanced contract for Cambiaso. His current deal, which extends until June 2027, sees him earning €1 million plus bonuses per season. The new contract is expected to double his salary, reflecting his increased importance to the team.
