Juventus Targeting Lazio’s Mattia Zaccagni

Start

Turin based newspaper Tuttosport report that Juventus are being linked with a move for Lazio winger Mattia Zaccagni. According to the report, Zaccagni is considered the ideal profile – even in economic terms – to add quality and creativity to the clubs attacking department, especially in the event of Federico Chiesa’s contract renewal falling through.

Additionally, the attacking winger, as reminded by Tuttosport, has been a long standing a target of Cristiano Giuntoli, who was on the verge of bringing him to Napoli in January 2021. With 10 goals and 7 assists during the last season, the Azzurri winger was expected to renew with Lazio, but the club chose to wait, not keeping the promise made.

But now his contract expiry – set for 2025 – is nearing, and according to Tuttosport, ‘Juventus smells a bargain.’ However, Fiorentina are now also in the mix for Zaccagni, having been following him for months and previously attempted to sign him, only to be thwarted by Claudio Lotito’s reluctance.

On their part, Juventus could offer the opportunity to play in the next Champions League, as well as an attractive contract (though with lower wages than Chiesa’s).
