Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement with Nicolo Fagioli for a contract renewal that would keep him at the club until 2028. The Bianconeri youngster is currently serving a seven-month ban after admitting to using an illegal betting app to gamble on football matches.
Despite the infraction, Juventus are keen on tying the midfielder down to a long-term deal, and Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that in the coming days, a contract renewal will be announced.
According to Di Marzio, the new deal will be until 2028 (his current deal expires in 2026), and that an agreement has already been reached.
The signing of the deal is expected in the coming days, and Sky point to the economic importance of the renewal, but also to the impact this will have on the relationship between club and player, especially in the current circumstances.
Juve recently released a statement, confirming their support for the young talent, saying: “We firmly believe that Nicolò, with the support of the club, his teammates, family members and the professionals assisting him, will face the therapeutic and training path with a great sense of responsibility and, once he has served his disqualification, will be able to return to compete with due serenity.”
