Juventus’ pursuit of Koopmeiners: Two new proposals on the table

Start

Juventus remains determined to sign Teun Koopmeiners this transfer window, despite the negotiations becoming more complicated following Gianluca Scamacca’s serious injury at Atalanta. The situation has affected Atalanta’s market strategy, making the already difficult deal even more challenging.

Calciomercato report that currently, Juventus’ sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has presented an offer of €45 million for the Dutch midfielder, which Atalanta promptly rejected, maintaining their 60 million euro asking price.

Two new developments have emerged in this transfer saga:

1. Future Sale Percentage: Juventus is considering including a percentage of any future sale of Koopmeiners in the deal. This could potentially persuade Atalanta to reconsider their stance. However, this element might have limited impact, as Koopmeiners would likely sign a 4-5 year contract with Juventus, taking him to 30-31 years old, an age where a subsequent transfer might not yield a significant fee.

2. Milik to Atalanta: Following Scamacca’s injury, Atalanta is reportedly considering Arkadiusz Milik as a potential replacement. Milik, currently at Juventus earning 3.5 million euros per year, is appreciated by Atalanta for his technical skills and international experience. Juventus, not viewing Milik as crucial to Thiago Motta’s project, would favor a ‘cash plus Milik’ deal for Koopmeiners. However, Atalanta has concerns about Milik’s injury history, especially considering the physically demanding style of play under Gian Piero Gasperini.
