Fiorentina are close to agreeing a move for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, who is expected to join them on loan. The Brazilian has had a torrid few years since leaving Barcelona in a swap deal that involved Miralem Pjanic heading to the Nou Camp. Having failed to find a place in coach Max Allegri’s team, Arthur spent the 2022-23 season on loan with Premier League side Liverpool, but a series of injuries kept him on the sidelines for much of the campaign.
Sky Sport Italia and Fabrizio Romano now report that Fiorentina are ‘close’ to agreeing a move for Arthur, with negotiations advancing quickly.
The deal is expected to be a loan with Juventus covering a large part of his salary, while La Viola will retain an option to buy him next summer.
Arthur made his name with Brazilians club Gremio before making the switch to Barcelona in 2018, where he played 72 times, scoring 4 goals.
