Following Juventus’ 3-0 win over Genoa, secured by Vlahovic’s penalty, manager Thiago Motta shared his thoughts on the team’s performance in the post-match interview.
Motta began by discussing the match itself: “Apart from the tactical change, I said very little between the first and second half. The players always stay alone for a few minutes and try to tell each other what’s needed. I’m very happy with how those on the bench participated as well. This is a strong group composed of strong players.”
The Juventus coach then focused on Vlahovic’s performance: “For me, he’s a positive leader who tries to help the team even in negative moments. He needs to improve his harmony with the team in more complicated situations. It’s not that I wasn’t happy when I substituted him, but I simply needed something different. He’s a very important player for us, and he knows that well.”
Motta concluded by addressing the team’s defensive solidity: “It’s an important statistic because it shows that this is a very solid team, from the attack all the way to the defense. The defensive phase, like the offensive one, starts from the attack. Today we defended together, helping each other even in difficult moments. I’m happy because it’s an important statistic for a team that wants to aim for great objectives.”
