Juventus manager Thiago Motta: “Not easy to score against such a closed team”

Juventus secured a 1-0 victory against Lazio thanks to an own goal by Gila in the closing stages of the match. It was a complex game for the Bianconeri, who despite having a numerical advantage, struggled to find the winning goal. After the match, Juventus manager Thiago Motta spoke to Sky Sport.

“We will continue to work on everything,” Motta began. “We faced a team that defended very well, it wasn’t easy. At times, the players were a bit frantic: it’s better to create one good chance than five for nothing. The goal came at the right moment, but it’s not easy to score against such a team. It was a deserved victory.”

Addressing the lack of long-range shots, Motta commented, “When done correctly, it can be very important. The cross that led to the goal is something we can do against all teams, it’s extremely dangerous.”

Motta also praised Cambiaso’s performance: “He’s becoming an important player for Juventus and for the national team, whether as a wing-back, full-back, or midfielder. He’s a complete player but still has a lot to improve. He needs to be balanced both physically and mentally; he’s a great professional.”
