Following Juventus’ 2-1 victory over Como in Serie A’s 24th round, manager Thiago Motta shared his thoughts on the team’s performance and the impact of new signing Randal Kolo Muani.
Motta began by expressing satisfaction with the result, acknowledging the challenge posed by Como. “The feelings are good. Playing against Como is not easy, and it hasn’t been for anyone. They play good football and can cause problems if you’re not alert and attentive. They attack in many ways. We played the game we needed to get the victory,” he stated.
The Juventus boss praised his team’s resilience, particularly those who came off the bench. “I’m happy for the boys because they deserve it. They always give their maximum effort. Those who came on did very well,” Motta added.
Addressing the goal conceded, Motta admitted room for improvement: “We should have done better. We left the last man alone, and we need to be more solid. The boys handled it well in the dressing room, and the reaction in the second half was excellent.”
When discussing Kolo Muani’s performance, Motta was both complimentary and cautious. “Kolo Muani is doing well and scoring goals. He can do better. He’s just arrived and needs to keep his feet on the ground. Goals are part of the game. I like seeing him like this, with a smile. He’s integrated very well and is helping like everyone else,” he explained.
Motta emphasized the importance of adapting to each match: “Every game has its own story. We hope to make the right readings to approach the games well. Today, the reading was correct. Except for the goal we conceded, the management of the game was good.”
Looking ahead to their upcoming Champions League fixture, Motta concluded, “We will face a Champions League match against a team that plays very good football.”
