Juventus are the latest club to be interested in young Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra and there have been contacts between the two clubs. Diarra is considered one of the most promising talents to emerge in French football and has already been linked with a move to the likes of Roma, Aston Villa, Wolves and West Ham.
Sky Sport Italia report that the Bianconeri club’s interest in the Strasbourg midfielder is ‘strong’, and there have been contacts in recent hours to explore the conditions of a possible deal.
After closing for the sales of Denis Zakaria to Monaco and Nicola Rovella to Lazio, Juve are now expected to push for the 19-year-old.
According to the report, Diarra would like to leave Strasbourg, and would like to go to a team that can achieve European football next year.
Strasbourg have already rejected two offers of more than €10 million from Lens, with the French side asking for around €20 million. Juve and sporting director Giuntoli, an admirer of Diarra, will now try to get into more extensive talks, aimed at convincing Strasbourg.
At nineteen years old, Diarra is coming off a standout season with Strasbourg in Ligue 1. The French-Senegalese midfielder played 29 games, scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists.
