Juventus are eyeing Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori to bolster their back-line amidst interest from Manchester United in Gleison Bremer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that as the summer transfer window approaches, Juventus are gearing up to reinforce their defensive line, with the impending departures of Alex Sandro and potentially Daniele Rugani on free transfers. While the Bianconeri have added Tiago Djalo in January, club captain Danilo is closer to the end of his career and questions marks continue over Federico Gatti’s place in the team.
Simultaneously, Juventus are mindful of the growing interest from Manchester United and other Premier League clubs in Gleison Bremer, who joined the club for €44 million in July 2022. Despite Bremer’s long-term contract, and Juventus considering him unsellable, they may entertain offers, if they reach the €80-90m mark.
Bianconeri Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli has reportedly identified Riccardo Calafiori as the ideal candidate to fortify Massimiliano Allegri’s defensive lineup, with scouts recently watching the centre-back during Bologna’s victory over Atalanta.
Bologna value Calafiori at approximately €25-30 million, and Juventus may explore options to reduce the overall transfer costs, including the inclusion of players like Facundo Gonzalez in the deal. Negotiations between the two clubs are anticipated to commence closer to the summer transfer window.
