Juventus are looking to strengthen their midfield options in the final days of the January transfer window, with Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka emerging as a potential target. The Bianconeri, who have already secured Renato Veiga to bolster their defense, are now turning their attention to the midfield as they prepare for potential outgoing transfers.
Calciomercato report that Chukwuemeka, the 21-year-old English midfielder of Nigerian descent, has struggled for playing time under Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca this season. With only five appearances totaling 130 minutes, the former Aston Villa prospect is keen to find more regular first-team action.
Juventus Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli sees Chukwuemeka as a viable option, particularly if Nicolò Fagioli departs the club. The Italian giants are considering a last-minute move for the Chelsea midfielder, who could be available on either a permanent deal or a loan arrangement.
Interestingly, Chukwuemeka’s name was brought up during recent negotiations between Juventus and Chelsea for Renato Veiga. While Juventus is intrigued by the possibility, they are not rushing into an immediate decision.
It’s worth noting that Chukwuemeka isn’t exclusively linked with Juventus. AC Milan has also been offered the player’s services, revisiting interest from last summer before they signed Youssouf Fofana. However, the Rossoneri are currently focused on their pursuit of Santiago Gimenez and are not prioritizing midfield reinforcements at this time.
