Juventus eye transfer targets in Leipzig clash: 4 players under Giuntoli’s scrutiny

Start

As Juventus prepares to face RB Leipzig in their second Champions League group stage match, the game takes on added significance beyond the pitch. While Thiago Motta’s side will be looking to build on their 3-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven, Calciomercato report that Juventus Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli will have his attention focused on several Leipzig players who have been on the club’s radar.

Sesko: The Most Talked-About Target

Benjamin Sesko stands out as the most discussed potential target. Juventus had shown interest in the Slovenian striker earlier this summer when Dusan Vlahovic’s future was uncertain. Although Sesko committed to Leipzig’s project for another year, he remains a prime objective for next summer, especially if Juventus fails to secure a contract renewal with Vlahovic.

Creative Midfielders: Nusa and Xavi Simons

Two other players Giuntoli attempted to bring to Turin last summer are attacking midfielders Xavi Simons and Antonio Nusa. Simons, who briefly returned to PSG, is now in his second consecutive year on loan at Leipzig. Norwegian winger Nusa, born in 2005, was a hot prospect in early August when deals for Nico Gonzalez and Francisco Conceiçao seemed unlikely. Both players remain under observation, though their valuations continue to rise.

Lukeba: The Potential Danilo Successor

Defensively, Castello Lukeba is drawing attention. Giuntoli had targeted the French centre-back during his first summer at Juventus when Allegri was still at the helm. Lukeba, a left-footed defender born in 2002, could be the natural replacement for Danilo, who is expected to leave at the end of the season. His acquisition could also allow Bremer to return to his preferred right-center position in defence.
