Crystal Palace’s young star Michael Olise has attracted the attention of Italian powerhouse Juventus, who are reportedly considering a player swap deal to secure the services of the promising winger ahead of the summer transfer window. Despite signing a new four-year contract with Selhurst Park last summer, Olise has continued to garner interest from top clubs across Europe, including a previous approach from Chelsea. Now, Juventus have emerged as a serious contender in the race for the 22-year-old’s signature.
The Telegraph suggest that Juventus are prepared to engage in a part-exchange deal, offering Argentine forward Matías Soulé as part of the agreement. Soulé, currently on loan at Frosinone, has impressed in Serie A, notching 10 goals in 23 appearances and catching the eye of Palace scouts.
However, Olise’s immediate future remains uncertain as he battles a hamstring injury, which has sidelined him for recent matches, including Palace’s recent draw against Everton. The setback comes at a crucial time for the talented youngster, who had been a key figure under former manager Roy Hodgson.
With Hodgson stepping down and Oliver Glasner taking the helm at Selhurst Park, Olise’s role in the squad could undergo further evolution. Alongside fellow talents Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, Olise represents a prized asset for Palace, who are bracing themselves for increased interest in their rising stars come summer.
Palace secured Olise’s services from Reading in 2021, activating a release clause believed to be around £8 million. Under the guidance of Patrick Vieira and subsequently Hodgson, Olise flourished, opting to remain at Palace despite Chelsea’s overtures.
