Juventus eye January swoop for Raspadori

Start

Juventus are gearing up for a potentially transformative January transfer window, with Napoli’s Giacomo Raspadori emerging as a prime target to bolster their attacking options. The Turin giants are considering a strategic move that could see them deploy Raspadori as a false nine, adding versatility to their front line.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ sporting director, has been actively exploring opportunities both domestically and abroad. With the transfer window set to open in just two weeks, the club is looking to address key areas, particularly in defence and attack.

The need for reinforcements has been accentuated by injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal, prompting Giuntoli to hint at multiple signings. While a central defender remains a priority, the club’s interest in Raspadori signals their intent to strengthen their offensive capabilities as well.

Raspadori, who has struggled for playing time under Antonio Conte at Napoli, is seen as an ideal fit for Thiago Motta’s tactical system at Juventus. The Italian forward’s ability to play as both a striker and an attacking midfielder makes him an attractive prospect for the Bianconeri.

Interestingly, Napoli’s stance on Raspadori has softened recently, potentially opening the door for negotiations. Juventus is exploring the possibility of a player exchange, with Brazilian defender Danilo and midfielder Nicolò Fagioli mentioned as potential makeweights in the deal.

However, the transfer presents its challenges. Danilo’s contract situation and personal preferences could complicate matters, while Fagioli’s recent lack of playing time under Motta might make him more amenable to a move.
