Juventus are actively pursuing Jadon Sancho as their primary target before the summer transfer window closes on Friday at midnight. While negotiations are underway and the club remains optimistic, they are also keeping other options open in case the Sancho deal falls through. Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli is exploring alternative paths to provide manager Thiago Motta with a final addition to cap off an already impressive transfer window.
According to The Guardian (via Calciomercato), Juventus is considering Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen as a ‘Plan B’ if the Sancho pursuit proves unsuccessful. Adli, a versatile player capable of operating as an attacking midfielder, winger, or second striker, is under contract with Leverkusen until June 30, 2026, and is valued at around €25 million. The 23-year-old has also attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.
Born in Beziers, France, Adli holds dual citizenship (Moroccan and French) and represents the Moroccan national team, having earned 9 caps and scored 1 goal. His dual nationality status would allow Juventus to register him as an EU player, avoiding any issues with non-EU player quotas.
Adli’s career began in the Toulouse youth academy before he made 43 appearances (scoring 8 goals) for their first team between 2019 and 2021. He then moved to Bayer Leverkusen, where he has featured in 112 matches and netted 21 goals since 2021.
As a modern, versatile player who aligns with Thiago Motta’s preferred style, Adli is currently viewed as an alternative to Sancho. However, even if Juventus successfully signs the English winger, Giuntoli may continue to monitor Adli’s progress for potential future transfer windows.
