Juventus Director Giuntoli discusses Vlahovic’s contract renewal

Start

Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli addressed the ongoing discussions surrounding Dusan Vlahovic’s contract renewal. Giuntoli expressed optimism about the relationship with the Serbian striker and his agent, stating, “The relationship with him and his agent is extraordinary. He still has a year left on his contract, and we will meet after the transfer market. There is still time to sort things out and move forward in the best possible way.”

Giuntoli also touched on his recent contact with Jorge Mendes, the agent representing players such as Francisco Conceicao and Antonio Silva from Benfica, who is reportedly a target for Juventus in January. He noted, “I greeted him, but we didn’t discuss the market. We will reveal our plans for January later; we will know more in the first days of next month.”

Reflecting on the current season, Giuntoli described it as a pivotal year for Juventus. “We started with a new coach and a different vision. Injuries have slowed an initially impressive growth; the team was not conceding much and playing beautiful football,” he explained. He acknowledged that the tight schedule and lack of proper rotation due to injuries had created challenges for coach Thiago Motta’s plans.

Despite a rocky start to the season, Giuntoli emphasized the importance of unity among fans and players as they look to move forward positively. “As fans, we are the first to be disappointed when we don’t win, but we must continue together towards a future that will bring us satisfaction,” he said.

With Vlahovic’s contract set to expire in 2026 and discussions about renewal underway, Giuntoli remains hopeful that both parties can reach an agreement that benefits everyone involved.
