Dean Huijsen is on the verge of signing with Premier League club Bournemouth, turning down Stuttgart in the process. The negotiations with Juventus have been successful, with only bureaucratic details remaining and a slight chance of a last-minute intervention from Liverpool. The Dutch defender, who holds a Spanish passport and plays for Spain’s Under-21 team, is expected to be announced by Bournemouth in the coming days.
Tuttosport report how Huijsen has been a target for Stuttgart, who showed significant interest in the former Next Gen player. Rumors of a Liverpool offer have circulated, driven by discussions initiated by Huijsen’s father. Although Liverpool might still make a bid, Bournemouth appears to be in the final stages of securing the transfer. Huijsen would join the team managed by Spanish coach Andoni Iraola.
Bournemouth will pay Juventus around €18 million for Huijsen: €15 million upfront and an additional €3 million in easily achievable bonuses. Juventus plans to use this money, along with the funds from Matias Soulé’s transfer to Roma (€26 million plus €4 million in bonuses), to make a final push for Koopmeiners and to formalize the signing of Todibo from Nice, who is expected to join Juventus on loan.
