Juventus defender Danilo has made his intentions clear regarding his future with the club. After the match against Manchester City, he spoke to Prime Video, addressing speculation about his potential departure and reaffirming his commitment to Juventus.

In a candid interview, Danilo stated, “Even in the summer, I was linked with many teams, but I never said anything and I never went to Juventus saying that I wanted to leave. I am at the disposal of the coach and the club.” He acknowledged that his recent performances have not been at his usual level but emphasized his willingness to improve. “The last performances have been a bit inconsistent and not at my level, but I always question myself,” he added.

Importantly, Danilo confirmed his contract situation: “I have a contract until June 2025 and I want to stay until the end. I have never seen a captain leave his team in the middle of the season; I will not do that.” His remarks highlight a strong desire to remain with Juventus despite ongoing discussions about his future.

Danilo’s contract with Juventus is set to expire in June 2025, but it includes a clause that could trigger an automatic extension if he plays more than 50% of the matches this season. However, recent reports indicate that Danilo is seeking to remove this automatic renewal clause. According to Fabrizio Romano, “Danilo wants to eliminate the clause for automatic renewal from the contract,” suggesting that he wishes to negotiate his future on different terms.

This decision reflects a shift in Danilo’s status within the team. Once viewed as a key player under coach Massimiliano Allegri, he has recently found himself in competition for playing time with younger talents. The injury of fellow defender Bremer may provide him with more opportunities, but uncertainty about his role remains.
