Juventus could sell Danilo and Mbangula to fund new signings

Start

Juventus are already looking ahead to the January transfer window as they aim to address their defensive crisis caused by injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal. The Turin Giants are considering selling captain Danilo and young talent Samuel Mbangula to generate funds for new signings.

Gazzetta dello Sport report how Danilo, whose contract expires in 2025, has fallen out of favour with coach Thiago Motta and is evaluating his options. While Juventus may not receive a significant transfer fee due to his contract situation, his departure would free up his substantial wages.

Mbangula, on the other hand, could fetch around €10 million, providing a much-needed boost to Juventus’ transfer budget. The club is also looking to offload Arthur, currently out of the squad, to a Brazilian team in January.

With these potential sales, Juventus is eyeing two primary defensive targets: Milan Skriniar and David Hancko. Skriniar, currently struggling for playing time at PSG, could be available on loan, though his high wages present a challenge. Hancko, who can play both as a center-back and full-back, is a regular starter for Feyenoord but comes with a hefty €30 million price tag.

Other defensive options being considered include Danso (Lens), former Juventus player Dragusin (Tottenham), Bijol (Udinese), Andersen (Fulham), and Tah (Bayer Leverkusen).

Juventus’ sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli aims to create a financial buffer through these sales, allowing the club to explore more than just loan options in the upcoming transfer window. The Bianconeri are determined to reinforce their defense to maintain their competitive edge in Serie A and other competitions.
