Juventus could negotiate fine and 2-point penalty

Start

Juventus have decided to agree a plea deal with the Federal Prosecutor’s Office and could receive a fine and a 2-point penalty. The Bianconeri were set to have the investigation into alleged ‘salary maneuvers’ go to court on June 15, but reports across Italy suggest the case will be heard today, at around 10.30am Italian time.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juve will renounce their potential appeal to the Collegio di garanzia del Coni (and consequently also to the TAR, since it is not possible to turn to administrative justice without having gone through all three levels of sports justice) on the first investigation , namely that of the 10-point penalty for capital gains;

On the other hand, there’s a willingness of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office to consider the two judicial-sporting events as “adjacent”: in essence, the idea has been taken into consideration that, by resorting to Article 4, the one relating to the lack of ‘sporting loyalty’, in both indictment files, the 10 penalty points given to Juventus for the capital gains investigation would somehow already count a part of the sanction on the second investigation, that of the salary maneuver. .

It is still unclear whether Juve will get receive a fine or a 2-3 penalty points in the standings as well, so failure to quality for next seasons Europa League is guaranteed. In this way, Juventus could maintain access to the Conference League and already serve any penalty imposed by UEFA this season.
