Juventus are reportedly eyeing Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof as a potential January transfer target to bolster their defensive options. The Swedish center-back, whose contract with United expires in 2025, has emerged as a candidate for the Bianconeri’s backline.
According to Italian sports daily Tuttosport, Juventus are evaluating Lindelof as a possible addition to their squad. However, the player’s age – he’s 30 years old – could be a factor that complicates negotiations.
Lindelof has found playing time limited at Manchester United this season, making only four appearances in the Premier League. This lack of regular action has piqued Juventus’ interest, as they seek a defender capable of making an immediate impact.
Despite his age, Lindelof’s international experience could make him a valuable short-term option for Juventus. However, his contract situation presents a challenge. While United might be willing to sell at a reduced price given his contract’s expiration in 2025, Lindelof may prefer a longer-term commitment from any potential new club.
Juventus’ Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli is said to have good relations with Lindelof’s representatives, which could facilitate negotiations. This relationship was evidenced in the recent transfer of Denis Zakaria to Monaco.
However, Juventus’ current transfer policy, which increasingly focuses on young and promising players, might cause the club to hesitate in pursuing Lindelof. While there is concrete interest, the club has not yet decided to actively pursue him as a reinforcement.
