Juventus closing in on Cristiano Giuntoli

Start

Reports from across the Italian media suggest that Juventus are closing in on a deal for Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli. The 51-year-old is widely considered an important architect of the Partenopei’s title success this season having secured a number of key signings last summer to replace outgoing first team regulars.

The former Carpi man was appointed to the Napoli role in 2015 and was responsible for signing players like Kim Min-Jae, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in recent years.

Tuttomercatoweb, Sky Sport Italia and a number of others claim that Juventus have already met with Giuntoli regarding a move this summer, with talks reportedly having progressed quickly.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio believes Juve are very close to getting their man, saying recently:

“Napoli is in serious danger of losing Cristiano Giuntoli. If I had to say today, for me Giuntoli, will not remain the sporting director of Napoli and will go to Juventus. I think he is hungry for a new challenge. De Laurentiis will do everything to retain Luciano Spalletti.”

The Bianconeri are in need of a new sporting director to replace Federico Cherubini and have reportedly made Giuntoli their number one priority this summer.
