Juventus and Milan explore potential Tomori-Fagioli swap deal

Start

The January transfer window is heating up with rumours of a possible exchange between Juventus and AC Milan involving Fikayo Tomori and Nicolò Fagioli. This potential deal has emerged as a topic of discussion, addressing the needs of both clubs while potentially solving multiple issues at once.

Calciomercato report that Juventus have shown strong interest in Milan’s defender Fikayo Tomori, while Milan could benefit from the addition of midfielder Nicolò Fagioli. This swap deal could be a win-win situation for both sides, allowing them to strengthen their respective squads without significant cash outlays.

For Juventus, the primary goal is to bolster their defence. The club is looking to offload Fagioli to generate funds for acquiring a defender, with Tomori being their prime target. Juventus Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli is also working on other departures, including Arthur and potentially Danilo, to create more financial flexibility.

On Milan’s side, the club initially preferred a cash offer for Tomori, valuing him at around 25 million euros. However, the possibility of acquiring Fagioli, who is rated similarly, has piqued their interest. The relationship between the two clubs is solid, as evidenced by their recent smooth transaction involving Pierre Kalulu.

The timing of the deal could be a potential stumbling block. While Milan is interested in Fagioli, they may prefer to pursue him in the summer. Juventus, however, is keen on moving Fagioli immediately, unless unforeseen circumstances arise at the last minute.

Danilo’s situation adds another layer to the transfer discussions. Napoli are strongly positioned to secure the Brazilian defender, with negotiations ongoing. Juventus are seeking compensation for Danilo, but Napoli is reluctant to meet their demands. Despite interest from other clubs, including brief talks with Milan, Danilo seems set on a move to Napoli, where he hopes to play a starring role in the lead-up to the World Cup with Brazil.
