Juventus and Milan are reportedly going head-to-head in the race to sign Arsenal centre-back Jakub Kiwior. The Rossoneri are keen to reinforce their back line for next season, while Juve will be looking for a defensive replacement for Alex Sandro who left the club at the end of the season.
According to Calciomercato, former Spezia defender Kiwior, now at Arsenal, has been on Milan’s radar for weeks. However, in recent hours, Juventus have also made a move for him, with technical director Cristiano Giuntoli continuing his search for a defensive reinforcement for Thiago Motta.
Today in Hamburg, a Milan scout will watch Kiwior in action for Poland against the Netherlands. While Milan are keen, Juventus also view the Pole as an alternative to Calafiori if Bologna’s asking price is too high. A key factor is Thiago Motta, who launched Kiwior during their time together at Spezia.
Kiwior’s time at Arsenal already seems to be coming to an end. The Polish defender considers his cycle in London over and intends to request a transfer after Euro 2024. According to reports, Arsenal value his transfer around €25 million but could allow his departure for €18-20 million.
The Milan-Juventus transfer duel also includes Adrien Rabiot, who is out of contract at Juve and has been sounded out by Milan. Recently, Giuntoli has made moves for Milan’s top midfield and attack targets Youssouf Fofana and Joshua Zirkzee. Another name followed by both clubs is Armando Borja, the Chelsea and Albania striker. Milan are ahead in that pursuit, but Juventus could turn to him as Vlahovic’s deputy if Kean departs.
