Juan Cuadrado to undergo Achilles surgery

Start

Inter wing-back Juan Cuadrado has confirmed that he will need to undergo surgery to fix an ongoing issue with his Achilles tendon. The Colombian international joined the Nerazzurri as a free agent in the summer but has barely featured due to ongoing issue with the injury.

Taking to Instagram, Cuadrado confirmed that he needs the operation due to ‘unbearable pain’ that he has had to play through:

he has been playing through ‘unbearable pain’ and is now forced to have surgery ‘because the doctors say it could get worse if I don’t.’

“I have been struggling with pain in the tendon and have done everything an athlete can do to recover, and I have even trained and played with pain that at times becomes unbearable and does not allow me to give 100%.

“I burned all the treatment options avoiding surgery, but the doctors tell me that it could be worse if I don’t take this decision.

“I have always been a footballer who gives everything, who always gives his best on and off the pitch.

“It saddens me a lot in this time that I have not been able to do it for this great club that has given me a great opportunity. But with FAITH in God because he makes all things work together for good. Romans 8:28”
