Juan Cabal remains priority signing for Inter

Start

Inter continue to pursue Juan Cabal from Hellas Verona as a potential solution to fill the void left by the injured Tajon Buchanan. The Nerazzurri are exploring various options to secure the Colombian defender, born in 2001, who is valued at €10 million by Verona.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report how a new development in the negotiations involves Issiaka Kamate, a Franco-Ivorian midfielder born in 2004 currently playing for Inter’s Primavera team. Kamate could be included as a partial counterpart in the deal, potentially lowering the financial terms of Inter’s pursuit of Cabal.

Inter are considering multiple approaches to reach an agreement with Verona, including a combination of fixed and variable payments, a loan deal with an option to buy, or the inclusion of Kamate in the transfer.

While Cabal is not the only player on Inter’s radar to address the gap left by Buchanan’s injury, he has emerged as the most discussed option in recent days. The club is also considering free agents Ricardo Rodriguez and Mario Hermoso, as well as 18-year-old Giovanni Leoni from Sampdoria.

Inter’s interest in Cabal stems from the need to compensate for Buchanan’s absence, who is not expected to return until November-December due to a right tibia fracture sustained on international duty. Although Cabal has a different profile from Buchanan, Inter’s versatile players like Dimarco and Darmian allow the team to explore various options to cover for the Canadian’s absence.
