Croatian winger Ivan Perišić is set to join Tottenham Hotspur, having turned down a renewal offer from Inter. The 33-year-old is out of contract with the Nerazzurri this summer and despite their efforts to extend his deal, he looks set to leave on a free transfer.
The Independent and Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio report that Perisic has agreed terms on a two-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur, with sources close to the player believing the London club will beat both Chelsea and Juventus to his signature.
According to reports, Spurs boss Antonio Conte specifically asked for Perisic as a ‘key signing’ for his team.
Conte met with Spurs’ managing director Fabio Paratici on Friday morning and agreed to stay at the club for another season, with one of his main conditions being the signing of Perisic.
The winger will earn over £4m a year with in North London and while Chelsea and Juventus are set to strengthen their offers, there is a belief that Spurs will get their man.
