After Bologna’s recent match against Fiorentina, head coach Vincenzo Italiano addressed the media, responding to comments made by Fiorentina’s sporting director, Daniele Pradè. Following the 1-0 loss to Bologna, Pradè expressed his dissatisfaction with Italiano’s celebration after the game, suggesting it showed a lack of respect.
“I want to start by extending my condolences to Raffaele Palladino,” Italiano said, referring to the recent passing of the Fiorentina coach’s mother. “In recent matches, I have celebrated in the same way. I leave the satisfaction to the players and then step back. Did I disappoint him as a man? I believe he overreacted. I’ve had the same attitude in all my victories, and upon reviewing the footage, he may reconsider.”
Italiano reflected on his time at Fiorentina, expressing surprise at Pradè’s remarks. “I spent three wonderful years in Florence, and I am truly surprised by the director’s words. As for us, we are starting to grow; between the Champions League and our recent matches, we are trying to give everyone a chance.”
Discussing the match against Bologna, Italiano acknowledged the challenge posed by their opponents. “We faced a team with sky-high enthusiasm. Eight consecutive results are significant. We prepared for their set pieces with Kean and their offensive projections on the wings. We took some risks but deserved to win in the second half. Fiorentina is rightly where they are.”
