Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano spoke of the anger he felt after losing in the last minute against Lazio. La Viola had the ball in the net early on thanks to Lucas Beltran, only for it to be ruled out for a handball. The Argentine hit the woodwork soon after, but it was the Biancocelesti who came away with a last minute victory, thanks to a penalty awarded in stoppage time.
Speaking with Sky Sport Italia, Italiano spoke of his anger and frustration at the defeat, pointing to the positive performance his side had put in over the 90 minutes:
“The defeat makes one angry. Fiorentina played a great game: we conceded very little to Lazio. Losing in this way is not good. Let’s work on this situation, especially to keep our concentration high in the final minutes.”Vincenzo
“I think that when games are at 0-0, you can lose even beyond the dying minutes: that’s the worst moment of the game there. We were not careful on that cross: a point would have been golden. This naivety cost us dearly.
“Another defeat after Empoli: in these two games we would have deserved more. We dribbled well, with great attention. Lazio is very good at attacking with their front line but we didn’t allow them so much. Milenkovic tried to make a move in the wrong movement and the ball landed on his arm.”
“Losing such a game hurts me, I hope it is the same state of mind for my players. The moment Barak and Nzola came in we kept more balls in the area. Losing after such a performance is not right. Fiorentina came to Rome to play the game.”
