Milan are on the verge of securing their first official contract renewal of January with Ismaël Bennacer. Bennacer, 25, has one and a half years left on his current deal. The Algeria international is set to renew his terms and extend his stay in Milan until 2027, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio.
The midfielder’s agent, Enzo Raiola, has been negotiating terms for his client with Milan over recent months. Bennacer will see his salary almost tripled: the current deal earns him €1.5m, whilst these new terms offer €4m (including bonuses) per year.
A release clause of €50m is to remain in his contract which is only applicable to foreign clubs; Milan had intended on removing this clause. Di Marzio has indicated there are only the last minor details that need to be ironed out, but these should be completed imminently.
As previously reported by Foot Italia, Milan are making progress in contract renewal talks with Rafael Leão. The Portuguese forward is currently negotiating agent fees and his release clause. Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud has already made a “verbal pact” with the board and should officially extend past the six months remaining on his contract soon.
