Inter coach Simone Inzaghi believes the goal that handed Juventus a 1-0 win in the Derby D’Italia should not have stood: ‘What happened is unacceptable’. Video footage appeared to show Adrien Rabiot handling the ball, shortly before Filip Kostic gave the Bianconeri the lead, however the VAR review allowed the goal to stand, a decision that Inzaghi was still angry about when he spoke with InterTV (as quoted by SempreInter) after the game:
“It wasn’t easy, they defended deep in their own half, and despite what had happened in the first half we created some chances.
“We could have drawn a match but instead it went the way of Juve because of one incident.
“The final result does not reflect what we saw in the pitch. We made a few technical errors, but so did Juve.
“We came into it off the back of a cycle of intense matches and we had some injuries, Dimarco had to come off as well.
“But the individual moments can make the difference, and what happened is unacceptable.”
“The break? We’ll be in training with those who stay, we’ll work to regain our fitness.
“We have another incredibly tough run of matches ahead of us, and we’ll have to be ready.”
