Inter coach Simone Inzaghi admits that he has choices to make about his midfield ahead of the derby with Milan. Both sides have started with perfect records this season, winning their opening three matches to leave them tied at the top of the table. Heading into the derby this weekend, Inzaghi admitted that he needs to think about the inclusion of Davide Frattesi. The young midfielder featured for the Azzurri during the international break, scoring a brace in their 2-1 win over Ukraine, prompting Inzaghi to admit that he has to make choices in the centre of the pitch:
“Milan have impressed in these matches. We also arrive in good form to this match, which we want to play in the best possible way. Fear? No, just a lot of respect. We’ll try to make our players recover because some have travelled and others have done 180 minutes”.
“Frattesi? Davide is a player we all wanted. He has settled in very well and has been working with his team-mates for two months now. Clearly I have to make choices and I’m happy to make them. There was a moment when they were forced, then they all came back and Inter improved a lot.”
“Sanchez I’ll only see today, Cuadrado I hope to bring him tomorrow, I saw him as calm. I’ll have to make some choices”.
“Leao? He’ll be a special player we need to watch, we’ll try to take counter-measures. Last year’s derbies? I’m proud to have won them, they also allowed us to play a historic Champions League final. On the pitch, however, we don’t go by precedent”.
“Frattesi and Barella together? They have already played in games and in pre-season. They are similar but can easily play together. My only thought is to choose for the good of Inter. Then who plays we’ll choose from time to time.”
